Family Threads: Your family's story, easy to share

Family Threads

Don’t leave the box in the loft for the children to sort out.

Turn your family photos and old tree files into an easy, interactive family history the whole family will love.

Local to Hagley. Friendly, unhurried and personal.

What we offer

Everything gathered, sorted and easy to enjoy

Bring the box, the albums and whatever old tree files you have. Family Threads turns them into something the whole family can open, explore and add to.

Photos sorted and scanned

Your photos are carefully sorted and scanned on Martyn’s own ScanSnap scanner, then named and linked to the right people.

Interactive tree website

A private family tree website. Tap a person to see their story and photos. Delivered on a USB stick, with no subscription.

Printed colour booklet

A printed colour family booklet to keep, pass round and share, with an optional written family story.

Living relatives kept private

Living relatives’ details are kept private as standard. Only people who have passed away are shown in full.

How it works

Three simple steps

1

A free friendly chat

A chat and a look through your box, with no obligation.

2

We sort, scan and build

Photos, papers and tree files are brought together into one easy family history.

3

The family enjoys it

Everyone explores it, shares it and adds to it over time.

It flows. It’s not clunky like Ancestry. Quick, easy, interactive and addictive for all the family to enjoy.
Martyn, founder of Family Threads

Private family area

Your own private family thread

Every family gets its own private, signed-in space for its interactive tree, photos, documents and booklets.

  • Each family sees only its own family thread. Families are kept completely separate.
  • Living relatives are shown only to that family’s own logins, and only as names, relationships, birth year and photos. Never full birth dates, addresses, contact, health or religion details. Anyone can ask to be hidden.
  • No passwords to remember: sign in with a one-time code sent to your email.
